Stetson Wind Farm will be Maine's largest
A Maine wind farm that will provide the equivalent power needs of 23,500 homes will officially go on line this week when Governor John Baldacci attends an opening ceremony for the 57-megawatt Stetson wind farm in eastern Maine.
The 38-turbine wind farm sits along top of Stetson mountain's long, low ridgeline at elevations between 600 to 1,200 feet and is the second in the state completed by wind energy developer First Wind. Until now, First Wind's Mars Hill project has been New England's largest commercial wind power project.
