I've heard Guy Kawasaki's Alltop likened to an online magazine rack: you can look at the magazine covers, read the headlines, and even page through the latest articles. Well, thanks to the good folks at the popular social news aggregator, ecopolitology will now be among the "magazines" you can page through while searching for the latest in environmental and cleantech news at Green Alltop.
Inspired by the popular aggregator, popurls, which aggregates the top stories on social media networks like digg, reddit, delicious and twitter, Alltop collects the headlines of the latest stories from the best sites and blogs that cover a topic. In stead of aggregating the most popular stories, Alltop aggregates the most popular sites and groups those selections into individual web pages, displaying the five most recent headlines of the information sources as well as their first paragraph.
But it's not just computers that do the sorting and grouping, Alltop admits there is some judging and subjectivity in the process — and we're cool with that.
It's good to be part of a community that values the contributions of the little guys.
