UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen
Throughout the year, much of the world's focus on environmental politics was related to the UN's COP15 climate summit Copenhagen. The two-week summit was marked by heavy-handed police actions, hundreds of speeches by heads of state, and all-night work sessions, but ended at an impasse as all but a handful of countries agreed to "take note" of a political agreement called the Copenhagen Accord.
