Whether it's about unions, mine safety, or environmental policy, Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship has never been one to shy away from taking jabs at the policymakers, regulators, environmentalists or any entity that might try to slow his company's reckless pursuit of coal at all costs.  Think Progress dug up this gem from June of 2009, where Blankenship told long-time DC reporter Chuck Conconi that obeying "non-sensical" safety rules was "very difficult."  Massey Energy, owners of the Upper Big Branch Coal Mine in Montcoal, W. Va. where a mining accident killed 29 miners on April 6, has a history of chronic environmental violations and mine safety violations.
