2010 campaign ads focus (less) on energy and environment
If you consume media via mainstream TV and radio, you've undoubtedly noticed the tremendous recent upswing in campaign ads. Although issues relating to energy and the environment are nowhere near where they were two or even four years ago, there are still plenty of campaign ads addressing issues like climate change, energy independence, renewable energy and fossil fuels. But considering the 2009 Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that allowed unlimited corporate expenditures in political campaigns, we're surprised we haven't seen more.
LiveOAK editor Tim Hurst and I decided to round up campaign ads focused on energy and the environment this year. For lack of a better organizational method, we placed them into two groups: Pro-Environment and Anti-Environment. While this may not be the best or most accurate way to organize the campaign ads, it seemed the most intuitive.
If you've seen any we missed, please share them in the comments below and we'll add them to the collection. Which ad is your most/least favorite? Which is the most/least effective?
