Recently I was chatting with the prolific green business journalist Marc Gunther about Ecopolitology and he said something to the point that I was "obviously not a branding expert." It's true. Rarely does a week pass that I don't question my wisdom in naming this blog Ecopolitology, let alone taking the even more abstruse "@ecopolitologist" as my twitter handle (which not only takes up more than ten percent of available characters in a tweet but it is even more difficult to pronounce and spell).
To me, the name is now old hat, but I am reminded that it's still a bit of a tongue twister every time I hear someone on the phone stumble over it or come across a misspelling of it on the web. But occasionally I am reminded that even though it's a mouthful, Ecopolitology is, in fact, a unique, self-evident and rather catchy name. Branding expert? Maybe not. But all things considered, I think I did a pretty good job. And it's emails like this one that remind me that Ecopolitology is not just a blog name, it's a real thing.
My name is ..., I'm 24, from Moscow (Russia). I will graduate this year and will be specialized in environmental and political sciences ( so called "ecopolitologist" in Russian language).
This summer I'll move to USA. I am highly interested in collaboration with you and also if I can use this rare specialization in USA.
Thank you for your time, ...
