People across the U.S. were shocked to learn this week not that Lou Dobbs is calling out a remake of The Lorax, the Dr. Seuss parable of overconsumption and ecological balance, as "indoctrination" of America's children, but that Lou Dobbs is still on television. Dobbs, who has traveled this route before, joining Glenn Beck in an attack on The Story of Stuff, an animated documentary about consumption and globalization, is trying desperately to cling to relevance. While his latest outrage against The Lorax on Fox Business News may have bought him a few more months with a certain demographic, one wonders how relevant that demographic actually is.
